Behind the Scenes of a Mad Tea Party – A delicious English country High Tea menu

For this Mad Tea Party, Miss Party thinks a High Tea menu would sit quite well with the teen guests less-refined palate. It appears that savory sandwiches, stews, cottage or shepherd’s pie, summer salads, casseroles, and of course, sweets are all a part of a classic High Tea menu. These dishes would be perfect for this group! So here’s a penciled in mad tea party menu:

Reception Hour:
“Drink Me” Bar:
French Lemonade, Iced Water

Paper cones of caramel popcorn mixed with chocolate chunks for snacking (no nuts)

High Tea Menu: (served at 6 o’clock)
Savories:
Platter of savory mini sandwiches: ham and cheddar cheese with honey Dijon mustard; sliced chicken with mango chutney, turkey and swiss cheese pinwheels,
Humpty Dumpty’s Deviled Eggs
Bowl of green and red grapes
The March Hare’s Garden Salad (cherry tomatoes, fresh corn, mozzarella, fresh basil)
The Mad Hatter’s Cottage Pie
The Dormouse’s Mac and Cheese Casserole
Scones with Butter and Jam

Sweets:
The Queen of Hearts’ Mini Berry Tarts
Load 1/2 of each flavor onto antique gold cupcake candelabra:
Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting (“Eat Me” tag picks inserted into each cupcake)
Lemon Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting (with “Eat Me” tag picks)
Mini Krispie Nutella Sandwiches
S’More Pops
Fruit Salad
