So, as a domed cake plate, it’s perfect for keeping breakfast breads, cookies, a pie, or a not-too-tall cake from drying out and, of course, you can do all sorts of things with the cake plate which are quite unrelated to ‘cake’. Now you get to be the magician for a minute. Turn the cake plate itself over to become the base; turn over the domed lid and place the ball top inside the recess in the stand and you now have a Trifle or punch bowl!
