Miss Party has finally returned from two glorious weeks on Nantucket! It’s just about one of her favorite places in all the world and this summer it looked better than ever!
If you haven’t visited Nantucket, an island off the coast of Massachusetts, you should put it on your short list of places you NEED to visit someday soon! National Geographic has just named it the #1 ‘Best island in the world’ and Miss Party concurs. It’s also one of the top locations in the U.S. for destination weddings (so keep that one in mind if you’re looking for an idyllic wedding location). The island has no comparison, it has a unique flavor and beauty all it’s own.
The vibrant and sophisticated Nantucket town is East Coast preppy –but lovable. It’s got classic New England quaintness in spades but there’s enough down-to-earth Nantucketers to ‘keep it real’ and pleasantly casual. The beaches are gorgeous, and carefully tended to. The locals share a fierce desire to keep the island as pristine as possible and their tight grip on the reins has made a huge difference in controlling building, development and retail. They’re proud of the fact there is not one stop light or one fast food chain on the island.
Miss Party has only been home a few days and she’s missing it already. There’s no better place to watch a sunset, have a ‘lobstah’ or eat an ice cream cone…and the Hydrangeas are to sigh for!
P.S. If you can’t get to a New England lobster shack on the East coast anytime soon, you can still do the next best thing. Get the taste of sweet summer lobster by making up a casserole of Miss Party’s delicious Lobster Mac & Cheese using fresh lump lobster meat. Oh, my goodness, it is SO yummy!
